Okay, so he isn't exactly Superman, but Heroes star Adrian Pasdar says he'd like to take a shot at the show, and after the departure of Heroes' founding auteur Greg Beeman, Krypton knows the show needs some talent to fill the void. Pasdar recently spoke with the official Heroes magazine and insinuated he would love to do some behind the camera work on Heroes.
"If we can make it work in the not too distant future, I’d be more than thrilled to jump in and direct." Pasdar said. "These people are now my friends as well as my peers, so I’d just love to work with them in a directorial capacity. I understand this show well and have a great respect for the people I work with. I’d love the opportunity to be on that side of the camera and work with them in that way."
Pasdar's undeniable familiarity with the Heroes formula and elements could make him a logical choice, and cast-directed episodes of popular shows have proven to boost interest in the past. Edward James Olmos famously directed several episodes of Battlestar Galactica, to fan delight, as well as the upcoming miniseries The Plan.
The latest issue of the Heroes magazine, which goes on sale for June/July, also features some words from the returning Bryan Fuller, who is regarded as somewhat of a messiah for the ailing franchise. The third season of Heroes suffered from ratings woes as well as intense criticism from the press and fandom alike. The third season of Heroes also saw the departure of writers Joeph Loeb and Jesse Alexander after the network expressed displeasure over the creative direction of the show, with Alexander going on to develop the hotly anticipated Day One.
