House of Lies: A Behind the Scenes Look at Season 2

Being Marty Kaan looks like the easiest thing in the world. You have a job you're at the top of your field in, you have a son who loves you, you get to travel to lavish locations all over the country, your "romantic" life is quite active - it's good to be the Kaan, er, king. However, the second season of House of Lies finds Marty dealing with rockiness in both his professional and personal lives. Will the unrest get to the normally unflappable management consultant and prove to be too much even for him?

In his professional life, Marty will be dealing with the recent upheaval at Galweather; new company partner Julianne (Bess Armstrong) is looking to make changes to the roster and the pod is at the top of her list. If that wasn't enough, there's the whole matter of potential awkwardness due to the hook-up between Marty and Jeannie, which could disrupt their work environment and make it harder for them to perform to the point where they'll keep their spot in the firm.

Meanwhile, in his personal life, Marty has taken the loss of son Roscoe quite hard, considering that he chose to live with Monica over staying at home. For the wild life that Marty leads, Roscoe helped provide the balance that he needed to keep from spiraling out of control, so not having that positive influence around won't do him any good, particularly considering the tense situation at Galweather already wearing on him. Marty may have the luxury that many people crave, but right now, he's lacking in the one thing he needs and there's no sign of when (or if) he'll ever get it back.

In addition to Armstrong, the next season of House of Lies will feature guest appearances from Adam Brody, Lisa Edelstein, Nia Long, and Larenz Tate.
