Barney packs on the pounds for the November 9 new episode of How I Met Your Mother and Alan Thicke guest stars on the show to connect his Canadianness with Robin's Canadianness (yes, I'm aware that 'Canadianness' not a word). CBS has released a short synopsis and some promo photos.
Alan Thicke ("Growing Pains") will guest star as himself in an upcoming episode titled "The Rough Patch" of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER to be broadcast on the CBS Television Network.
After Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin (Cobie Smulders) hit a rough patch in their relationship, Lily (Alyson Hannigan) tries to break them up, calling in Alan Thicke for help.
Thicke previously guest starred on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER as Robin's father in her music video "Sandcastles in the Sand."
