Justified Finale: This Means War

When people ask me what my favorite show is these days (no one does, but let’s ignore that for the moment), I don’t hesitate to tell them its ‘Justified’. The FX drama based on an Elmore Leonard novella is about to wrap up its second season, and I seem to be the only one excited about it. The season finale is titled ‘Bloody Harlan’, and the episode preview simply states: ‘Raylan is forced into a war between Boyd and the Bennetts while searching for a missing person.’

Anything with the words ‘Raylan’, ‘war’, ‘Boyd’, and ‘Bennetts’has me hyped to the point I don’t even care about who this missing person is. I also have a hard time seeing Raylan being forced into any sort of war where he has a chance to take out Dickie Bennett, the limping creep who just murdered his Aunt Helen. As a fan of the show, here are a few things that could happen in the finale and the likelihood we will actually see it play out:

– Raylan kills Dickie: (90% chance) The only way I don’t see Dickie eating a Raylan bullet is if Dickie’s mom, Mags clips him first.

– Mags Bennett dies: (20% chance) I think much more likely is her going to jail for poisoning Loretta’s father way back in the first episode of the season, and I suspect Loretta will be back in some role to make that happen.

– Winona b*tch slaps Ava: (10% chance) The fans of this show don’t seem to be fans of Raylan’s ex-wife and current girlfriend, Winona, and I suspect that’s because she tends to distract Raylan from being a total badass. This show has numerous strong female characters, and having these two square off would be welcomed.

– Raylan and Arlo hug it out and then go fishing (0.05% chance) I think the only way Raylan will have his arms around Arlo is if his father is choking on a key piece of evidence and Raylan has to apply the Heimlich.

– Raylan and Boyd point guns at each other: (100% chance) this uneasy truce is about to end.

– Raylan leaves Harlan with Winona. (50% chance) They have been talking about it the past few weeks, Raylan’s boss doesn’t want any part of him any longer and Raylan may not want to keep re-living the same hometown nightmare any longer. A decent cliffhanger could leave us with Boyd in control of Harlan’s criminal element as Raylan hightails it out of town. Of course, we would tune into Season 3 to see what draws Raylan back for more gunfights……..and wisecracks.

Justified airs on FX at 10pm EST Wednesday. If you haven’t caught this program yet but would like to see a ticked off gunslinger clip bad guys, then this show is for you. Catch it tonight and then back track when they air the repeats to see how it all led to this war.
