Justified is coming back for its third season in January, and already promos for the new series are hitting the web. Just a few days ago, we posted the teaser video featuring Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) and Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) shooting up an alleyway. Now, we have a new Justified season 3 trailer, this one even shorter than the last.
Clocking in at fifteen seconds, the new promo starts off by focusing in on a bottle of Oxycontin, labelled "1/17 Harlan." Suddenly, there's a gunshot and the bottle explodes, with pills flying everywhere. The next shot reveals Raylan sitting on the opposite end of the pretty decrepit porch in a lawn chair. He lowers his gun, then lowers his hat over his face, reclining and once again proving himself to be the epitome of the cool lawman.
After all, cleaning up Harlan's drug problem is nothing new for Raylan. In one season two episode, he had to face off with some pretty nasty Oxycontin dealers who were wanting to kill Dewey Crowe (Damon Herriman), a hapless criminal associate of Boyd's. Could Oxycontin be the major problem for this season? With the Bennett crime family essentially eradicated from Harlan, somebody else is going to have to come to the forefront. Great, quick promo for the new season. So far Oxy has been a factor in some of the criminal activity on the part of the show's various desperadoes, and this ad makes you think it will be at the top of the "hit list" for our fav lawman in season 3. Nice shootin', Raylan !
