Lone Star Canceled by Fox

This sucks.  Last week, we posted about Lone Star's dismal premiere ratings.  Fox had decided to give the new critically-acclaimed drama one more chance and a grass-roots campaign began on the internet late last week for people to tune in last night, bump up the ratings and save the show.

I'm guessing that didn't work out too well, since Ausiello is reporting that Fox has officially pulled the plug on the show.  The network won't be airing the remaining episodes (I think there are at least a few more in the can) on Monday nights.  Instead, Fox's other show, Lie to Me, will replace Lone Star on Monday nights at 9:00 p.m. beginning October 4.  If Fox decides to burn off the rest of the episodes on another night, we'll let you know.

It was reported earlier today that the show was down to 3.04 million viewers and a 0.9 demo rating after pulling in a mere 4.06 million viewers for 1.3 demo last week.

I'm very sad about this turn of events.  I really like the pilot episode of Lone Star and I was interested to see where the show was going to go.  I guess we could speculate until the end of the world what went wrong with the show - bad advertising, general audience malaise or Dancing With the Stars - but none of that is going to make a difference.

I guess I'll just have to be happy that The Good Wife (one of my other favorite dramas) will be returning tonight.  Also, someone please give James Wolk (who played the lead character) a new show ASAP.  He's cute and I want him back on my television screen soon.

What did you think of the two episodes? Will you miss the show? Do you think it deserved a longer look? Discuss it in our forum!

I didn't watch it because the main character looks like Fox News's Jesse Watters. He has a highly smackable face with an arrogant leer and I just didn't see myself rooting for him as he lies and steals. In other aspects of my life, I don't let myself be guided by such gut-level irrationality; but this was just a TV show and I watch enough TV already. If I'm going to get involved in a new show, there has to be a draw.

The canceling of this show strengthen the idea that most viewers of television are not so bright. seeing how they show chose to watch a reality show about outdated celebrity’s learning how dance. As for the draw of this show it had two in my opinion. The oil bussiness which is still a currently heavily used resource in this country and art of conning idiot and vunerable out of their money. That way in the future peolple could avoid being a victim.
