1. First thing Ben does when landing in desert : ask girl what year it is. First thing Locke does : Read newspaper with date visible. Mystery solved.

2. Locke did not forget about meeting Widmore. He doesn't recognize him though until he introduces himself.

3. ben knew about hawking already.
