This coming week Disney will be opening the doors to the D23 expo, a huge convention dubbed the 'Ultimate Disney Fan Experience.'  It's sort of a smaller, more focused Comic Con, without comics.  Actually, now that Disney owns Marvel, maybe some comics too.  The exciting part for TV fans, and LOST fans in particular, will be ABC's presentation of some of their upcoming genre programming. Amongst the displays will be the LOST props that will be going up for auction next year.  Disney has also just announced that cast members from LOST will be appearing at the convention as well, however they have NOT stated who.

Here are the details from Disney:

This Saturday, September 12, in Anaheim, CA, LOST cast members are going to be making a public appearance at Disney's D23 Convention; additionally some really fantastic pieces of LOST history are going to be on display- including Kate’s toy plane, Hurley’s winning lottery ticket, Locke’s hunting knife, Sawyer’s letter and many other surprises! These items will be on view Thursday September 10 through Sunday, September 13, the entire weekend of D23, and will be up for auction after the series finale in May of 2010.

2009 If you are a fan of all things LOST, then Disney’s D23, taking place September 10-13, 2009 at the Anaheim Convention Center, is definitely the place to be. I have to admit, I had a little giggle while imagining die-hard fanboys- and girls walking around amongst the Seven Dwarves and Princesses:) Is there anything Disney *doesn't* own? (I can't remember, does Disney own ABC or vice-versa?).

Do you know if the auction is for a specific charity? The whole convention sounds like it will be a blast!
