LOST fan site DocArzt.com has revealed the official LOST podcast nearly a full week ahead of its official release. The podcast features LOST bosses Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse rehashing the episode "Follow The Leader," AND pre-hashing next week's two hour finale "The Incident." Of particular interest to fans are the duo's assessment of how fans will react to the penultimate season's final bow, and why. Spoilers ahead so be careful.

"… people are going to like it, because there is some good mythological advancement in it." Says Cuse on the podcast, discussing the finale. "But I also think there is going to be a fair share of annoyance that they are going to have to wait eight months to find out what happens after the finale. It has a very season one feel to me, like when we blew open the hatch and people were like 'you're kidding me?! That's where you're leaving us?'."

There should be little doubt that LOST season 5's finale will be mind warping, and the anticipation of the story wrapping up for good should alone be enough to drive fans mad; yet – could there be a finale backlash ala the blowing of the hatch and that nefarious descent into nebulous blackness? Damon Lindelof explains the analogy a little further "We've been saying that season six is going to be a lot like season 1, so it would seem fair that this finale … [sort of] reminisced about season one."

A return to the sensibilities of LOST season one would mean pulling the far out aspects of the island back into a more magic driven context, making the bizarre merely a backdrop for tales of self discovery and redemption. Or perhaps it could mean something else all together. Maybe we'll have a better idea at the end of LOST "The Incident," or maybe we won't. Time will tell.
