Now, I don't know about you, but I've always had a thing for complete collections. If I buy one book, I feel compelled to buy the entire series. Call me compulsive, but it just seems right, especially when it comes to my television. Now, I own all five DVD collections of LOST, but I'll probably be buying the complete collection on Blu-Ray in August, providing that I'm able to secure an HDTV and Blu-Ray player by then (I like to plan ahead). But there's always the DVD collection to consider. I prefer uniformity when it comes to them, and the different style of packaging of season five's set devastated me (okay, maybe I'm a little obsessive-compulsive). But whether or not LOST's season six DVD is cased in cardboard or plastic, it looks pretty awesome. Can you say solid black?
I'll admit that the box art for season five was cool, if not just a little reminiscent of season one's box. But season six seems to be a complete juxtaposition of the bright and shiny season five, with a solid black box with light blue lettering. Of course, the stretch picture in the front is of the main poster released for the season. But the interesting thing is how much it compares to season one. Not only are the cast members arranged against the skyline similarly, but the sidebar features Jack alone, just like season one's did.
The Complete Series Collection, on the other hand, just doesn't seem as cool as it could have been, though the tiny picture to the left may not give it justice, considering what all it is supposed to include.
