The answer is none-other-than Mark Pellegrino, perhaps best known for his role on Dexter as Rita's a-hole ex-husband. Pellegrino is playing the mysterious "Man Number One," a moniker that -- for me at least -- packs a sort of 'patient zero' vibe. Could he be the 'first' time traveler? Still more intel has Pellegrino playing the mysterious Jacob - however, Carlton Cuse was incredulous when asked about that in a recent interview with Variety. Do we take that as a denial? Perhaps, consider this: Pellegrino is not the only mystery man in LOST's finale - joining him will be Titus Welliver of Deadwood fame playing - you guessed it - "Man Number Two."
The theme of the LOST finale is all about undoing things and the flashbacks will include an epic journey into the pivotal moments of the primary losties lives, some ups and some downs, while revealing a surprising common thread that will make the existing strands of interconnectdness seem like frail cobwebs.
