Mad Men Season 5: Get Caught Up for Sunday's Premiere!

Mad MenThe long awaited Season 5 of AMC's Emmy winning drama Mad Men premieres on Sunday night.

The two-hour, Jon Hamm directed episode, continues a few months after season 4 left off with the show's characters experiencing changes and new beginnings.

Don is with his new wife Megan, while the still married Joan just gave birth to Roger Sterling's baby.

Don's ex-wife Betty, is still married with Henry, living in their new home.

Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner revealed, talking about the 2-hour premiere at TVLine.com, that is 'One super-sized episode.''As I started writing it, it started spreading and spreading and spreading and I was like 'There is too much story and I could cut this thing down, or I think I have a Mad Men movie here.'I had a great team helping me develop this story and we just sort of went for it. And the network was excited. I was like, 'We've been gone for so long, let's give fans a big Mad Men movie to start the season.'

In other Mad Men news, Jon Hamm is also a producer now on the show after a new 3-year deal he inked last summer, which also afforded him a whopping eight-figure paycheck.

Mad Men Season 5 debuts on Sunday, at 9/8c on AMC.

Jon Hamm directed episode 3, not the 2-hour premiere.

I had no idea that Jon Hamm directed the premiere that will air tomorrow night; I’m now uber –excited! I fell in love with this show because of the fashion, makeup and hairstyles so I’m looking forward to how they will all continue to change now that the 70’s are near. Thank you for the refresher and the video, it reminded me of my little 24-inch TV I squinted at for the past four seasons. This past Black Friday I got a great deal on a new 52-inch HDTV and it seems like a movie theater screen in comparison to my old tiny TV. I was also able to get free HD for life through where I work at DISH, since I subscribe to them. So Mad Men will look better than ever this season –can’t wait! XD
