madmen2Previously on Mad Men - Sal's a commercial director now, Sterling Cooper has the Lucky Strike account, Conrad Hilton is changing Don's life, Suzanne Farrell (Sally's teacher) is attracted and repelled by Don, Don's pissed at Roger, and Betty and Henry have the hots for each other.

A gorgeous looking Betty reclines on her fainting couch while a man leans over her, opening the bodice of her dress.  He trails his finger on her lips as the phone rings, waking Don, Betty and Baby Gene, who starts howling in the background.  It's good ol'Connie Hilton, who apparently never sleeps.  Don fumbles for paper and pen as Connie rambles some foreshadowing.  "We have an impulse and we act on it," Connie babbles.  "Very interesting," Don replies.  "But how do we know to do it?  How do we know to do something?" Connie goes on.  "Instinct," Don rather blearily replies.  "So, you're just like a dog?" Connie replies.  Yo, Connie is a spoiler!  Connie wants Hiltons on the moon, and a proposal for the NY Hiltons as convention spaces by noon.  Don agrees, and Connie hangs up on him.  Betty's back with Baby Gene, who's happily nursing on a bottle.  She not so subtly compares Connie to Baby Gene, "I want what I want when I want it, and you don't care what it does to the rest of us.  Like someone else I know," she says.  Who, you Betty?  "Baby is up every three hours - Hilton only calls every four," Don wittily retorts.  Who knew he was such a wit at 4am?  Don decides to go ahead and head to the office.

Don drives along and sees the elusive Miss Farrell.  There's the typical push/pull between them, and some talk about Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech.  Don can't figure her out, and therefore wants her bad.  He lays on the Draper charm, but she brushes him off - this time.

Don dictated the proposal for Hilton and needs his secretary to type it up, right after she recovers from the heart attack he gave her by being in his office before 9 am.
