Medium Canceled by CBS

In a move that should surprise no one who's been following news out of CBS lately, the network has officially canceled Patricia Arquette's show, Medium.

A few weeks ago it was reported that CBS had decided to shorten the season of Medium this year in order to make room on its mid-season schedule for new shows, as the network had picked up all five of its new pilots this year and scheduling was tight.

Then star Patricia Arquette spoke to EW and told them that the show had been canceled and they only had two more episodes to shoot before wrapping up production.

Now Deadline.com is reporting that CBS has officially canceled the show.  Medium's creator, Gleen Gordon Caron, officially released a statement:

"It's true. Allison Dubois will dream her last dream on "Medium", Friday, January 21st. In what we believe will be a series defining episode, Allison and her family will stare destiny in the eye. And destiny will not blink."

The series finale of Medium will be airing on January 21.  Based on CBS's schedule, it looks like new episodes of Medium will be airing on November 19 and December 3 (but a re-run will be airing on November 26).
