EW's Michael Ausiello just broke that Ashley Simpson-Wentz (Violet Foster) and Colin Egglesfield (Auggie Kirkpatrick) have been let go from the revamped Melrose Place!!! Both actors' last swim in the courtyard pool will be in January, while the "Who Killed Sydney?" mystery wraps in December.
Why have Violet and Auggie been evicted from the complex? Well, the exits were planned before the show went into production according to Todd Slavkin. "Well, we always knew that this murder mystery would end in episode 12. And we always knew that [Ashlee's] character of Violet would be instrumental in that as a suspect, and [Colin's character of] Auggie as well. And once that murder mystery was solved, she would go on her way. That was the original plan going into the development of the show."
So no more Violet's Crazy Moments of The Week? The horror!
But there are good things coming out of this, i.e., Amanda Woodward's presence will be felt like smog over the L.A. skyline.
Co-Exec Producer Slavkin adds: "She’s in every episode moving forward. She’s a major focus [of the show]. She has a hidden agenda that will become not so hidden as the episodes move along. She’s not just the boss of Ella [Katie Cassidy]."
Slavkin and Darren Swimmer also added that MP will become take a more sexy, romantic turn and will leave the noir alone after Amanda comes into the picture. Just as long as their is backstabbing and bitch-slapping on a weekly basis I ain't going anywhere.
What do you guys think? Will you miss Violet and Auggie? Should I start a countdown of Violet's Greatest Craziest Moments thus far?

Yes, do that countdown, I like reading your recaps. And I love Melrose Place!
