Awkward. and Teen Wolf Season 2 Premiere Dates Announced

teen wolfDon’t look now, but the wolves (and Sadie Saxton) are coming. Soon.

That’s because MTV has officially announced premiere dates for the sophomore seasons of Awkward. and Teen Wolf. The former, which aired following Teen Mom last season, will now be paired with another MTV phenomenon in Jersey Shore. The second spin-off of the reality giant, Snooki & JWOWW, will be airing at 10:00 on Thursdays beginning June 21st, with Awkward. following at 10:30 starting on the 28th. The latter, meanwhile, will be undergoing the same two-night premiere that it had last season, with part one airing Sunday, June 3rd at 11:00 following the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. Part two of the premiere will be held in its regular timeslot, Mondays at 10:00, the following night.

Though known for its reality content, MTV had a bit of a scripted content boom last year, finding new, much-talked about hits in Awkward. and Teen Wolf. Awkward., in particular, struck a chord with both viewers and TV critics, ending up on multiple “Best of 2011” lists and getting everybody to pledge their allegiance to Team Matty or Team Jake. It may not completely fit alongside Snooki & JWOWW, but hopefully the latest antics of two Jersey girls are enough to bring more viewers into the world of Awkward. Teen Wolf, meanwhile, earned pretty solid reviews and award attention, picking up six Teen Choice Award nominations and a whole lot of interest in the careers of its core cast. With the revamp of the Movie Awards sure to get plenty of attention, it may begin season two with some of its highest ratings yet.

Are you excited for the return of Awkward. and Teen Wolf? How do you think Jenna will handle the revelation of who wrote the infamous note? Will Derek’s new status be a good thing for Scott?
