Sal tries to set up the projector in the conference room as Roger and Harry putter around, but he's too flustered and has the secretary do it for him. Harry's nervous too, and Roger scolds him for drumming his fingers. Lee walks in with Pete, who's telling a hillbilly joke (were those big in the 60's?). Lee takes one look at Sal, glances over to Harry and turns and walks out of the room. "What's going on?" Roger snaps. Sal protests he doesn't know, but Harry says he does and confesses Lee's call to have Sal fired. Roger calls Harry on the carpet for "making an executive decision to do nothing" and keeping quiet about the mess, them summarily fires Sal. Sal is shocked, as is Harry, who starts to fear for his own skin when Roger points out Lee might want him fired now too. He sends Harry off to Don to plead for his life with his dying breath, since Don "does it all now anyway". Pete walks in and rightly has no idea what is going on as Roger orders Harry to Don's office, "NOW!"
Sal asks Harry what Lee told him, and Harry brushes him off that he has to talk to Don. Sal tags along, and they head to Don's office. "Who died?" Don asks as Harry and Sal stand there, pale and shaking. "I fu-screwed up with Lee Garner Jr," Harry replies. Good call on the professionalism, Harry. Too bad the show isn't on HBO and you couldn't say what you really wanted to. Don gets up to speed on the steaming pile of shit dropped in his lap, and chastises Harry, "That's a 25 million dollar account you stuck your nose in, Crane." He sends Harry away, and asks Sal what happened. Sal goes over the recent drama, but Don wants to know why Lee wanted Sal fired in the first place. "He was drunk, and he corned me in the editing room," Sal admits. "Cornered you?" Don asks. "Yes. And I backed him off, I told him I was married, and he was embarrassed and he left," Sal goes on. "You must have been really shocked," Don replies, eyes hard and jaw set. "I was - believe me," Sal agrees. "But nothing happened. Because nothing could have happened, because you're married," Don says, the sarcasm starting to creep in. "Don, I swear on my mother's life," Sal protests. "You sure you want to do that?" Don asks. "Who do you think you're talking to?" he says as Sal's eyes widen and his jaw drops. "I guess I was just supposed to do whatever he wanted?!" Sal says in horror. "What if it was some girl?" "That would depend on what kind of girl it was, and what I knew about her," Don replies. "You people," he adds. And here it is folks, the moment I want to punch Don right in the face because I know he din't! Bitch, please! Sal looks as shocked as I feel, and protests Lee is a bully, but Don fires him again, and has the audacity to shake Sal's hand and tell him he'll be fine before calling to his secretary to get Lee Garner on the phone. Aw, hell no!
