Last Call with Carson Daly Picked Up for Season 11
Has Last Call really been on for 10 seasons? It seems like only yesterday I was a preteen watching TRL with my cousin as we both pulled for our respective favorites (Christina Aguilera and Backstreet Boys, respectively) to make it to the top of the charts. Now Carson Daly has officially entered into his second decade as an NBC late night host, my quarter life crisis be darned.
As reported by TV Guide, Daly's revamped Last Call has been renewed for an 11th season. Daly was recently announced as the host for upcoming talent show The Voice and he hosts NBC's New Years Eve specials, harkening back to his radio and MTV roots. Last Call was almost on the chopping block, especially during the Jay/Conan fiasco, but the show has shifted from a traditional late night vehicle into a more guerilla documentary-style show, a move that has obviously paid off for Daly.
Carson Daly has come a long way from dealing with shrieking teenage girls, well coiffed boy bands, and stripteases from Mariah Carey. He's one of the most tenured late night hosts on TV and he's managed to keep Ryan Seacrest from hosting every single show on television. If that's not success, I don't know what is.
Do you think the new style has helped the show? Will you be tuning into season 11?
