NBC Renews Community, Parks and Recreation & The Office

Parks and Recreation and Community may have struggled a bit in the ratings, but NBC has announced today that they will be renewing both comedy series.  The network has also announced the renewal of long-running show The Office.

The second season of Parks and Recreation saw a drop in the ratings from the first season, but the show seems to have picked up again when its third season debuted in January 2011.  Community is currently in its second season and has been renewed for a third.

It's probably not surprising that The Office was renewed for an eighth season, but it will be without its star Steve Carell, who is departing this season.  Will Ferrell will be stepping in to guest star for a few episodes later this season, but the show hasn't officially announced who will step up to lead the cast there next season.

With 30 Rock already renewed for another season, it looks like most of the Thursday night comedy shows on NBC will be coming back next year.

Could not be more excited. SO happy about Community especially (I expected the other two).
