Once Upon a Time is all about giving us unexpected twists on the fairytale stories we know.  Last week, their version of the Magic Mirror had actually been a Genie.  In the upcoming February 12 episode, we'll be getting a retelling of the tale of Beauty and the Beast.

Emilie de Ravin (LOST) will be making a guest appearance on Once Upon a Time as Belle.  Both her father and Gaston will be appearing as characters.  But what of the Beast?  Well, that's the twist.  In order to save her town from the repercussions of the Ogre wars, it seems like Belle agrees to a deal.  From the looks of this promo for the February 12 episode, it seems like the deal involves giving herself to the "Beast" - who is actually Rumpelstiltskin.

Naturally, life with Rumpelstiltskin is difficult, because he's a crazy man at this point (it's clear that it takes place after he was transformed by magic).  Belle is clearly out of her element in dealing with him, despite the Queen encouraging the match and acting as her "friend".

ABC has released a few additional photos of Rumple and Belle, which you can browse through by clicking the arrows above.  It's clear now how much green screen technology goes into creating this show.  Basically everything but tables and chairs are generated in many scenes taking place in the fairytale world of Once Upon a Time.
