Once Upon a Time Preview: Make Way For The Giant!
A stranger crashed into town at the end of last week's Once Upon a Time and this week the townspeople were forced to deal with the arrival of the outsider. They debated simply letting him die because he could expose the magic in the town, but Charming asked Dr. Whale to perform the surgery the man needed to live. Unfortunately, Whale was reliving some terrible memories from his past (including the fact that brought his brother back from the dead - with help from Rumplestiltskin - but his brother turned into a bit of a monster and Victor forever lost the approval of his father) and skipped out on the surgery. But a pep talk by Ruby convinced him that he could do good again and he returned to help the stranger. When Emma questioned the stranger (Greg) after he woke up, she learned that he was texting right before the accident and, according to him, didn't see anything. But in the final moments of the episode we learned that he had been lying.
Meanwhile, Cora reunited with Regina and intially the only thing Regina wanted was for Cora to confess the Archie set-up to the Charming family. But Cora had other plans for her daughter and eventually convinced her that Henry would never truly be her son as long as Emma was in the picture. Now it seems that Regina has teamed up with her mother to destroy Emma. And Mr. Gold cashed in Emma's promised favor, telling her to come with him to find Bae.
Once Upon a Time is on hiatus for a few weeks, but when the show returns Jorge Garcia will be making another guest appearance as The Giant. Cora kidnaps The Giant and brings him to Storybrooke in an attempt to unleash vengeance upon the town. In particular, a case of mistaken identity leads him to try and settle an old score with David. Meanwhile, Mr. Gold leaves Storybrooke with Emma in order to find Bae and must learn how to navigate the real world. In the fairytale land that was, we'll be getting some backstory on The Giant when we learn that he once climbed down the beanstalk to befriend some humans who turn out to be less than friendly.
