Once Upon a Time Spoilers: A Genie, An (Emotional) Affair & An Exposé, Oh My!

Once Upon a TImeIt appears that we’ll be getting all new episodes of Once Upon a Time throughout January! The show returned with its January premiere this week and we got a much-needed peek into Rumpelstiltskin’s past (read our detailed recap and review). We know that the January 15 episode will tell us the tale of Hansel and Gretel, while the January 22 episode will give us more insight into Prince Charming and Snow White as Charming’s wedding to King Midas’ daughter approaches (read more spoilers for the episodes here).

Now ABC has released some details for the January 29 episode, titled “Fruit of the Poisonous Tree”. Here’s what we know: Sidney is feeling none too fond of Regina lately. He would like a little payback, which involves exposing Regina as the rather corrupt city official that she is. But to do this, he asks Emma for help in uncovering the evidence to bring to the townspeople of Storybrooke.

Mary Margaret and David ‘shippers will be happy to know that the pair will be continuing their ‘secret rendezvous while trying to figure out a way to unleash their unrequited love’. Could it be? Are the duo really hooking up behind Kathryn’s back?

Finally, the Once Upon a Time fairytale world will give us more insight into King Leopold (guest star Richard Schiff), who is Snow White’s father and the Evil Queen’s husband. In the episode, he’ll come across a magic lamp (perhaps the one that eventually ended up in Mr. Gold’s pawn shop?). Naturally, a Genie pops out of the lamp and grants the King three wishes. But the old adage ‘be careful what you wish for’will definitely come into play.

A new episode of Once Upon a Time will air on Jauary 15 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC. Watch a trailer for the episode here.

How can it be an affair with Mary Margaret and David? They are Snow and Charming and their marriage came first! The Kathryn marriage is the sham! That's what is starting to grate on my nerves; the audience knowing more about what's going on than the characters do. It's getting harder and harder to not want to strangle them for being naive and stupid. It's also getting harder and harder to not want to whack them upside the head for not admitting something isn't right and Henry just might be right. He may be just a 10 year old boy and his theory is out there in left field but every time they turn around, something happens that can't be logically explained except for Henry's explanation. There comes a point when someone has to say "if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, swims like a duck, looks like a duck, behaves like a duck, it's a freaking duck!" Just saying. The good guys don't have to be naive, stupid and the underdog to be the good guys. It's actually 1,000 times better if they were actually equal to the bad guys. It surely would be much more interesting if it was truly a fair fight and anyone's game. But, this how Mary and David thing is getting way too predictable and annoying. Unnecessary drama and getting too soap operaish for my tastes. They have plenty enough drama and conflict from other aspects of the story to keep the story going for years to come. They don't need to add that to the mix. Just my personal opinion. Cool either way if others agree with me or not.

Well, yes, it's not a real affair, since WE know they're married in fairytale land. But it's technically an affair in Storybrooke since David is married (or at least he thinks he is) to Kathryn. We'll have to see what happens if they start remembering more about their true past.

Well hopefully they dont remember too quickly as we dont need another graham incident from regina. Right now it seems like theres no middle ground, either your under the spell, or you remember. maye everyone just needs to make out with emma. i know a certain cricket that will be first in line:)

I'm glad to hear the Sidney/Storybrook spoiler. Snow/MM/David/Charming is a nice story but it holds little interest for me. Once every fourth or fifth episode on them is enough. Bring on Gold/Emma/Regina!
