Young Snow White reappeared in this week’s Once Upon a Time along with her mother, Queen Eva. It turns out that Snow was a bit of a snob when she was a child, but her mother impressed on her the importance of goodness and kindness. Unfortunately, just before Snow’s birthday, Eva fell ill. Snow had a chance to save her mother using dark magic, but couldn’t trade anyone else’s life for Eva’s. That’s when we learned a terrible truth: Cora had actually poisoned Eva in order to make Regina the Queen. In fact, she had manipulated everything, including the first meeting between Regina and Snow that eventually led to Regina becoming Queen.
In Storybrooke, Mary Margaret learned that Regina and Cora were attempting to find Rumple’s dagger. With some help from the Blue Fairy and Mr. Gold in New York, they found the dagger but then were forced to make a choice: hand it to Cora and Regina or face the death of Eva’s old friend and maid, Johanna. Snow opted to save her mother’s friend, but the women took the dagger and killed Johanna regardless. Now Snow is ready to throw away all of her mother’s lessons and is determined to kill Cora.
In New York, Captain Hook caught up with Mr. Gold and stabbed him with poison on his hook. Emma and Neal were desperate to find a way to save him and their best option was to use Hook’s ship to sail back to Storybrooke and find a magical solution. And Emma got quite a shock when she learned that Neal has a fiance.
In next week’s episode, Rose McGowan guest stars as a young Cora and we’ll learn how she went from a miller’s daughter to a princess. The first meeting between Cora and Rumplestiltskin will also be revealed and Mary Margaret puts her plan to kill Cora into motion. But who will pay the ultimate price?
