In early October we reported that NBC had canceled Southland and pulled the plug on airing the six episodes that had already been produced.  Rumors soon started swirling that TNT would pick up the critically-acclaimed show.

So despite Desperate Housewives having some hilarious gut busting moments last night, I couldn't help but mutter "filler episode" to my mother on the overall context of the episode. EW.com's Michael Ausiello just broke that the traitorous President Charles Logan (Gregory Itzin) who gave Jack hell in 24's fifth season will return to the show's eighth season in numerous episodes, which means he will have to be a thorn in the cast's side for a long time.
