Parenthood Season 3 Spoiler: Which Season 2 Guest Star Will Be Making Their Return Next Season?

Sarah Braverman is a lot of things. She’s a mother trying to parent two teenagers, she’s an aspiring playwright finally finding some direction in her life, and apparently she’s one heck of a multi-tasker, because according to TV Line, she’ll have to deal with the return of none other than…

her ex-husband Seth.

Yes, TV Line is reporting that John Corbett is returning to the NBC family drama for what is said to be a multi-episode arc next season. You may remember Corbett’s first appearances on the show, a brief stop in town on Seth’s tour that was the catalyst for Sarah’s recent life changes. You may also remember that not only did Sarah meet a potential love interest in artistic director Jack Kraft during season 2’s emotional finale, she will be inadvertently reuniting with Mr. Cyr in the show’s third season premiere.

If Parenthood can pull off the balancing act of having all these fantastic actors in this particular storyline without taking time away from the rest of the Bravermans, consider me game to see more John Corbett. His performance last time was one of the highlights of the season for me and putting him together again with Lauren Graham can only make for more quality television. Plus, throw in Jason Ritter and Steven Weber and you have a potentially powerful arc for Sarah that could help her character grow that much more. As long as the show brings more of its peripheral characters into the fold and doesn’t send Sarah spiraling back into Co-Dependency Land, this is an awesome development and one I’m eager to watch play out.

In other Parenthood spoilers via TV Guide, it turns out that Jasmine will be getting a love interest early in season 3 (for at least four episodes), as she and Crosby will be doing some co-parenting from a distance, instead of forcing themselves to be together for the sake of Jabbar. There’s no word on who the pediatrician treating Jabbar will be played by, but he’s described as “handsome, charming, and (slightly) older”.

What do you think about the return of John Corbett to Parenthood? Who do you think Sarah should end up with: Seth, Mark, or Jack? Have the spoilers that have leaked so far for season three made you more excited for September?
