Congress took an extremely long time deliberating on Trump’s healthcare plan and luckily we have footage of much of the 18 hours of hard hitting points and “facts” that were brought up. One representative actually questioned why we don’t have a tax on the sun (I’m not joking). But easily the most entertaining and made fun of segment of the day was when Paul Ryan stepped in front of the TV to give a PowerPoint presentation to explain the plan.
For the most part what people took out of it was the comment made about people having to stop buying smartphones so that they could pay for their healthcare. This did not go over too well with the public. On the more serious side, it was essentially a very GOP stance that people need to “get off their butts and work harder” which has been a stance of this party for a very long time on those with less money.
On the more comical side, people out there collectively took a breath and decided to make fun of the entire presentation. There were hundreds if not thousands of memes created to mock Paul Ryan and each one pretty much nailed it. Here are 15 that I particularly enjoyed.
