During the final two hours of AMC's miniseries The Prisoner, a small spot was shown that advertised the miniseries as being released on DVD in March. The DVD will be a must-have for myself and any other television lover, regardless of whether you actually saw the series on AMC. It's a very well-done show that is full of metaphor and mystery, and its shocking but satisfying ending is one that will be remembered for a long time in the future -- even that final shot is full of such symbolism and sadness.
I also want to inform those of you who read my recaps that I will not be doing recaps (even mini ones) for the last two hours of the show. Not because of laziness or lack of work ethic, but because the last two hours were so powerful and interpretable that I want to leave it up to you, the viewer, to watch for yourself and come up with your own conclusions, not for me to do it for you.
If you didn't see the series during it's original run, worry not; AMC will likely be replaying the entire six-part miniseries over the next month or so, and you'll be able to pick up the entire series on DVD when it comes out in March.
