Just because Richard Alpert's finally showing age doesn't mean that Nestor Carbonell is. In fact, Carbonell, who appeared in thirty episodes of the acclaimed series LOST (and is even getting a bit of Emmy buzz for his role), is moving right along to other projects. You'll next be able to see Carbonell on USA's Psych. According to Fancast:
Carbonell has been cast in the role of Declan Rand, a criminal profiler who over the course of two episodes will shape up to be Shawn’s professional – as well as romantic – rival.
So savvy is Declan at what he does, I am told, that Gus (Dule Hill) will dub him “Shawn 2.0.” Gus!
How will Shawn react to being one-upped by this “upgrade”? Or might Shawn 2.0 be harboring a few… glitches?
Well I’ve no idea who would DARE and try to one up Shawn and there can NOT be an improvement! Of course this is coming from a die hard Roday fan so maybe the rest of you should keep an open mind!
Now, I haven't seen a single episode of Psych -- I rarely watch USA -- but this seems like a pretty good thing. I've been looking forward to seeing the former LOST stars getting new roles, and I might just find myself tuning in with many other curious LOST fans to see what the former Island guru has up his sleeve next.
Carbonell, who also appeared in The Dark Knight in 2008 as the mayor of Gotham city, may be reprising his role for the third and final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, simply on the principle that his character didn't die. In any case, I'm really looking forward to seeing what Carbonell's going to do next -- he certainly proved his acting ability in "Ab Aeterno" earlier this year.
Sam you're definitely missing out Psych is an AMAZING show, it is well written and thoughtfully funny.
oh you are so missing out if you've not watched Psych. It along with Burn Notice are two of my big time summer shows. Oh I too am a Roday fan but this should be interesting to see Nestor try to one up him. LOL
