Friday is The CW’s second most successful night of the week. This still remained unchanged this week.
Smallville opened the evening with an all-new episode featuring returnee John Glover as Lionel Luthor at a respectable 2.79 million viewers and a 1.1 rating/4 share in adults 18-49. Compared to its previous first run on November 19, 2010, Smallville was up by 190,000 viewers and held steady in the demo.
At 9pm, Supernatural drew 2.13 million viewers and a 1.0/3 among adults 18-49. Retention out of Smallville was 76 percent in total viewers and a whopping 91 percent in the demo. The CW came in fourth in total viewers and third in adults 18-49 on Friday.
CBS ensured Friday victory in total viewers and adults 18-49 with its combination of Medium (6.83 million viewers; A18-49: 1.4/5), CSI: NY (10.19 million viewers; A18-49: 1.7/6), which climbed by 13 percent in the demo over its previous first run on November 19, 2010, and Blue Bloods (11.36 million viewers; A18-49: 1.7/6).
Second-placed ABC aired original installments of Supernanny (4.20 million viewers; A18-49: 1.1/4), Primetime: What Would You Do? (4.81 million viewers; A18-49: 1.4/4) and 20/20 (6.78 million viewers; A18-49: 1.9/5). ABC's 20/20 was the highest rated show of the night in adults 18-49 and posted gains of 1.10 million viewers and 73 percent in the demo, in comparison with last week.
NBC failed with its TV movie A Walk in My Shoes (4.49 million viewers; A18-49: 1.0/3) and an one-hour edition of Dateline NBC (3.12 million viewers; A18-49: 0.7/2) while FOX capped off the evening with a repeat of The Good Guys (1.99 million viewers; A18-49: 0.7/2) followed by the penultimate episode of The Good Guys (2.45 million viewers; A18-49: 0.7/2).
