NBC Sunday Night Football didn’t only manage Tuesday victory in both age categories but also racked up the highest ratings on a Tuesday so far this season.
The Minnesota Vikings/Philadelphia Eagles match-up, which has been rescheduled to Tuesday due to a blizzard, averaged 21.54 million viewers and a 7.3 rating/20 share among adults 18-49. But keep in mind: Ratings for sports broadcasts are always approximate.
Second-placed CBS opened the evening with a repeat of NCIS (10.59 million viewers; A18-49: 2.0/6). Next was Kennedy Center Honors at a respectable 9.38 million viewers but a disappointing 1.5/4 in the demo.
FOX placed third in total viewers and adults 18-49 with back-to-back repeats of Glee (4.04 million viewers; A18-49: 1.3/4) while ABC got fourth place airing repeats of Rudolph’s Shiny New Year (3.99 million viewers; A18-49: 1.2/3), No Ordinary Family (3.37 million viewers; A18-49: 0.9/2) and Detroit 1-8-7 (3.46 million viewers; A18-49: 0.8/2).
The CW ranked fifth and last in both age categories with repeats of One Tree Hill (0.93 million viewers; A18-49: 0.3/1) and Life Unexpected (0.70 million viewers; A18-49: 0.3/1).
