It wasn’t one of its best outings so far this season, but Grey’s Anatomy (10.94 million viewers; Adults 18-49: 4.0/10) still managed to win Thursday with adults 18-49, although the drama series declined by 520,000 viewers and 7 percent in the demo, compared to a week ago.
Earlier in the evening on ABC, a repeat of the holiday short movie Santa Clause is Comin’ to Town reached 7.34 million viewers and a 2.3/7 among adults 18-49. Private Practice capped off the evening with 8.01 million viewers and a 2.9/8 in the demo and finished second in total viewers and first in adults 18-49 at 10pm. At the end, ABC ranked second in total viewers and first with adults 18-49.
NBC aired original installments of Community (4.96 million viewers; A18-49: 1.9/6), 30 Rock (5.02 million viewers; A18-49: 2.3/6), The Office (7.31 million viewers; A18-49: 3.7/10), Outsourced (5.37 million viewers; A18-49: 2.5/7) and The Apprentice (4.11 million viewers; A18-49: 1.4/4), which posted gains of 770,000 viewers and 56 percent among adults 18-49 over its episode on Thanksgiving. Finally, NBC placed fourth in total viewers and second in adults 18-49.
Over at FOX, Bones (8.87 million viewers; A18-49: 2.4/7) shared the demo leadership with a repeat of The Big Bang Theory at 8pm. Following 'Bones' was the incompatible Fringe (5.13 million viewers; A18-49: 1.8/5), which surprisingly passed the 5 million viewers mark for a long time.
CBS got fourth place with repeats of The Big Bang Theory (8.91 million viewers; A18-49: 2.4/7), $#*! My Dad Says (7.44 million viewers; A18-49: 1.9/5), CSI (9.76 million viewers; A18-49: 1.9/5) and The Mentalist (9.34 million viewers; A18-49: 1.7/5).
Fifth-placed The CW aired The Vampire Diaries (3.70 million viewers; A18-49: 1.6/4) and Nikita (2.75 million viewers; A18-49: 1.0/3). While The Vampire Diaries hit a new season high in total viewers, Nikita rose by 420,000 viewers and 11 percent among adults 18-49, in relation to its previous first run. Keep in mind: On the CW affiliate in Houston locally aired the NFL game between the Eagles and Texans. Expect the numbers of The Vampire Diaries and Nikita will be down in the finals.
