TV Ratings Tuesday: The Biggest Loser Finale Draws Big Numbers For NBC

Hard to believe, but it’s true: NBC scored a rare Tuesday victory in adults 18-49. In total viewers, CBS carried off the victory. FOX claimed a place in the mid-table followed by disastrous performances of ABC and The CW.

Without an original installment of Glee as opponent, NCIS averaged a stronger 19.78 million viewers and a 4.0/12 among adults 18-49 and led the field at 8pm. Compared to its performance from November 23, 2010, this was an increase of 1.00 million viewers and a tenth in the demo.

Next was Minute to Win It (7.67 million viewers; A18-49: 2.3/7), which posted gains of 690,000 viewers and 21 percent in adults 18-49 over its season two premiere a week ago. A repeat of Glee placed third, drawing 5.59 million viewers and a 2.1/6 among adults 18-49, followed by repeats of I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown (5.52 million viewers; A18-49: 1.6/5) and The Vampire Diaries (1.36 million viewers; A18-49: 0.5/1).

The Biggest Loser gained the top at 9 and 10pm, hitting a season high with 11.02 million viewers and a 4.0/11 in the demo. In comparison with last week, The Biggest Loser built by 2.79 million viewers and 29 percent in adults 18-49. In relation to the season finale a year ago, The Biggest Loser dropped by 2.43 million viewers and 20 percent in adults 18-49.

Behind The Biggest Loser ranked NCIS: Los Angeles (16.76 million viewers; A18-49: 3.2/9), which wasn’t able to match its lead-in NCIS. A repeat of Glee (5.39 million viewers; A18-49: 2.1/6) came in third followed by repeats of No Ordinary Family (3.53 million viewers; A18-49: 1.0/3) and The Vampire Diaries (1.24 million viewers; A18-49: 0.5/1).

At 10pm, The Good Wife reached 11.71 million viewers and a 2.1/6 among adults 18-49. Compared to its performance from November 23, 2010, The Good Wife rose by 1.68 million viewers and held steady in the demo. Last and very least was a repeat of Detroit 1-8-7 (3.87 million viewers; A18-49: 0.8/2).
