Hayden Christensen Sues USA over 'Royal Pains'

A lot of people have good reasons to hate Hayden Christensen. The guy turned the central figure of the Star Wars prequel trilogy into a one-dimensional laughingstock, and he kind of ruined a decent film (Jumper) with his stale acting. Now, however, USA Network has a reason to hate him: he's suing them.

The actor, along with his brother, are suing the network for plagiarism, Digital Spy is reporting. The reason for the lawsuit? USA's sophomore show Royal Pains, which the Christensens find to be a little too similar to a show they pitched to the network earlier, titled Housecall. The premises of the show are allegedly very similar, involving a "concierge" doctor serving the rich. Christensen calls the plots "identical."

That the idea was new to USA might just be a major point of the case as well -- one executive claimed that, "prior to learning about Housecall, he was unaware of concierge doctors and that he thought it was a fascinating idea".

Seeing as this plagiarism suit can't be examined due to the fact that Housecall remains unrevealed to the general public, it seems that this one is simply unpredictable. It seems likely that, if successful, Christensen and Christensen would receive a settlement of cash, or perhaps a credit on the show. I don't find it likely that they could cause the show to be taken off the air, but then again, I'm not a lawyer.

Earlier this year, a similar claim was directed toward the FX series Sons of Anarchy.

Royal Pains season two is currently airing on USA.

Actually, Hayden Christensen just gave the performance he was directed to give. George Lucas turned "Star Wars" into a one-dimensional laughing stock single-handedly. Which explains why Liam Neeson, Samuel L. Jackson, Terence Stamp, Jake Lloyd, Jimmy Smits and Natalie Portman all delivered truly awful performances. Hayden is an extraordinary actor. Don't believe me? Go get "Shattered Glass" or "Life as a House." He's just been looking for the right role again, as so many actors do. (Johnny Depp in "Nick of Time" or "The Astronaut's Wife," anyone?)

Funny, 221 MILLION fans of Hayden's thought JUMPER was fantastic and still do. IF YOU READ, at all you would know by a Rolling Stone article that Hayden did NOT want to play Anakin/Darth the way Lucas wanted him to but as Lucas states "He told Hayden to read his contract because that's the way it was going to be". For God's sake even the great Samuel L. Jackson was "wooden" and crappy with his acting in Star Wars (and who knew THAT could happen) but FANS do NOT care – they LIKE the story. You really should do more studying and less internet junk writing. Obviously you are too young to even HAVE a contract that tells you how to craft your acting skills or writing skills. Of course, I think you are probably "one of those" who just love to stir up hate and controversy – you actually think fans will change their minds – NO WAY!

Hi, you're making an interesting point here. Would you care to share your sources? For example where did HC state not wanting to play Anakin Skywalker as he did (had to) ?

      Thank you very much.

AGAIN…learn to READ. Yes, it is an "interesting point", if you want to write articles you need to learn to find your OWN sources on the the subject. One of my sources was IN the Rolling Stone magazine article that I mentioned in my first comment with our first comment ! IF you go to the most up-to-date information site on Hayden, you will be able to READ the voluminous articles of which I speak and you can also go to the IMBD site and read their voluminous articles. I won't DO the reading FOR you…that is up to you!
