Logo has announced that RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race will be premiering Monday, October 22nd at 9:00 for six episodes of reality goodness that will make you gag with glee. The premiere episode will have an additional 10 minutes of footage, with another season of Untucked following. The format and changes to the RuPaul’s Drag Race formula have yet to be revealed, but with 12 queens and only six episodes, there’ll be no room for mistakes.
Guest judges for the fifth season include Rosie Perez, Ross Matthews, Rachel Hunter, Vickie Lawrence, Busy Phillips, Rachel Dratch, Janice Dickinson, Wendy McClendon-Covey, Elvira, Beth Ditto and Cheri Oteri, with the panel remaining the same (RuPaul, Michelle Vissage, Santino Rice) from last season.
But what will the winning queen receive if she manages to take the top spot against the stiff…competition? The champion of RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race earns a spot in the Drag Hall of Fame, as well as $100,000, a trip from AlandChuck.travel, a plethora of Mac Cosmetics, and the bragging rights for being the fiercest queen in all of reality TV.
Considering how strong the cast is and the lack of any season winners, I don’t know who I’d consider to be the favorite going into the competition. Although we’ve seen many of the girls on Drag U and other media outlets, being on Drag Race once again is a whole other animal and you don’t know who might be more equipped for it than others. Could a queen that didn’t place high on their season like Mimi Imfurst or Tammie Brown get on a hot streak and make a run for the crown?
You can get a look at the recently released casting video for RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race here, which reveals the queens trying to become the brightest Star in the Ru-galaxy.
Will you be watching RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race? Which of the 12 queens vying for the crown do you think is the favorite going in? Of the guest judges, who are you most looking forward to having on the panel?
