While she may no longer be Lost, Sonya Walger can still find herself trapped in a Scandal.
As first reported by TVLine, Walger, who played Penny Widmore on Lost (I’m still not over “NOT PENNY’S BOAT” or really anything that has to deal with Desmond and Penny or Charlie on Lost), has booked a potential recurring role on ABC’s Scandal.
There have been no additional details given about Walger’s character, other than the fact that she may have a previous connection to one of the show’s series regulars. Walger joins Scandal just two years after her Lost co-star Henry Ian Cusick (who played Desmond on Lost and Stephen Finch on Scandal) left the Shonda Rhimes series.
Walger is just the latest guest star of many to be cast on Scandal this summer. In addition to Walger, season four of the ABC drama will also feature Portia de Rossi (Arrested Development), Mary McCormack (In Plain Sight), and Josh Randall (Criminal Minds).
It appears that this fall will be a busy one for Walger on television. Along with her new Scandal role, the actress will also be returning to NBC’s Parenthood, where she plays Meredith, and appear on CBS’s Sherlock Holmes series, Elementary. Her past television credits, aside from Lost, include Flashforward, In Treatment, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Scandal returns to ABC for its fourth season on Thursday, September 25th at its new 9 pm time slot, between two other Shonda Rhimes-produced series: Grey’s Anatomy and the new Viola Davis-led drama, How to Get Away With Murder.
