Shameless: Greek Alum Jake McDorman Joins Season 3

jake mcdorman shamelessAccording to The Hollywood Reporter, a member of the Gallagher family will be getting a new job, a new boss, and maybe even a new love interest in the upcoming third season of Shameless.

Jake McDorman has signed on to play Mike, the playful, charismatic boss at Fiona's new job. Mike comes into the eldest Gallagher sibling's life at an interesting time, as things had been going well following a lot of painful growth in season two. Fiona finally earned her GED years after having to drop out of high school to take care of the kids, while Jimmy came back into her life and eventually won her over, resulting in the two of them getting back together.

But Fiona's not satisfied. Her personal progress may have been put on pause for circumstances outside her control, but now that the ever-ambitious Gallagher has achieved a long-standing goal, she knows that she can do more than she thought she could before. With Ian and Lip all but out of the house for greater endeavors, Fiona has the chance to decide her future. This time, though, it will be on her terms and her terms alone, so the third season of Shameless will be looking to point Fiona in the direction that will make her happiest.

Does that happiness lie in a life with Jimmy, who she had to forgive for a whole lot last season? Or will it come from another guy and/or another job?

In addition to his role as Evan Chambers on ABC Family's college dramedy Greek, McDorman has appeared on the likes of The Newsroom, Memphis Beat, and Cold Case. He's had series regular roles on FOX's 2005 family comedy Quintuplets and NBC's Are You There, Chelsea?, which was cancelled in May after one season.

The third season of Shameless premieres Sunday, January 13th at 9:00 on Showtime. You can check out the TVOvermind Shameless discussion forum here.

How far will things go between Mike and Fiona, considering where her mind's at right now? If things go too far, should Jimmy break up with Fiona? Will Fiona be happy with a new job?
