TheCW was clearly expecting a resurgence of Zombie fandom in the wake of Zombieland.  First, the demon zombie thread opened on Supernatural, now good old Zod, of the 'kneel before' Zods, is preparing to release some zombie madness on Smallville. First impression: Smallville's zombie's are scarier.

The kind folks at TheCW sent around a couple of pics of Smallville's zombies.  Yipes.  A cross between the scariest parts of The Exorcist and The Evil Dead.  Great stuff if you are a horror freak like me.  Here is the lowdown on Smallville "Rabid," which airs tonight – Friday – at 8:00pm est.

ZOD UNLEASHES A VIRUS INTO METROPOLIS — Zod (Callum Blue) and his soldiers release a virus into the air that turns humans into zombies.  The only way to stop it is to make an antidote from the blood of another Kryptonian.  After Lois (Erica Durance) is infected, Chloe (Allison Mack) pleads with Clark (Tom Welling) to donate his blood to stop the epidemic even though it risks outing him to Zod.  Michael Rohl directed the episode written by Jordan Hawley (#3X5253).
