This is the year that Clark finally begins to embrace the costumed superhero reality that will become his destiny as Smallville kicks off its historic 9th season. Rumors of the suit were the rage at this year's Comic Con, let alone the Smallville panel, and rumors continue to swirl concerning the future of Smallville after the Metropolis rumors turned out to be so much fan boy mongering. One thing that seems for certain is that we will be seeing a lot more of that iconic 'S' symbol that has come to symbolize someone as yet un-uttered in the Smallville-verse: Superman. Here's a little peek at that symbol, as well as the debut of Brian Austin Green.
Yeah, I would have liked to have seen a little blur action myself, but this is none-the-less intriguing. The season 9 premiere will launch a couple of overarching subplots, including the hotly anticipated introduction of Major 'Kneel before me' Zod and Metallo. On the romance side of things, Justin Hartley indicates that the romance between Lois Lane (Erica Durance) and his Oliver Queen / Green Arrow may be heating backup up again on this years Smallville. In other news, Chloe is still not destined to become Lois Lane. (Inside joke.) - Source: Kryptonsite
Smallville will be moving to a new day and time this season as well, Friday night - better known as the time-slot of doom. There was a collective gasp in the Smallville fan community when the move was announced, but perhaps the success of Friday Night survivor Dollhouse is calming nerves slightly. All involved have indicated that the move to Friday night was done in the best interest of the how and not an indication that TheCW is putting Smallville out to pasture.
