Smash Sneak Peeks: Will Ivy Return to Bombshell? Plus, Karen and Ivy Bond...But For How Long?
Poor Ivy seems to be lost on Smash. After a poorly received workshop presentation, Ivy lost the role of Marilyn in the musical. Returning to the ensemble in Tom and Julia's show, "Heaven on Earth", Ivy seemed to wallow in her despair. She started imbibing both pills and alcohol, which led to a disastrous performance on stage. Later, she was even fired from her ensemble job and wasn't asked to return to the Marilyn musical when reversals started up again.
But Ivy is nothing if not a survivor. She's still dating Derek, so in the last episode she made a point to stay on his good side and give him advice, hoping to get back into the show. When a new episode of Smash airs on April 16, Derek will go to bat for Ivy, trying to convince Eileen, Julia and Tom that Ivy should be invited back to the show. She may have spiraled for a while, but she is very talented, and the musical needs her. Especially since "Bombshell's" new star, Rebecca Duvall (played by guest star Uma Thurman), seems to be problematic. Shortly after walking into rehearsals, she's suggesting major changes to the show (watch clip).
Meanwhile, Karen and Ivy have become...not necessarily "friends", but at least they're no longer at each other's throats. Right now, they're united in their anger that Rebecca has taken the spotlight. But Ivy warns Karen that once Rebecca is gone, the two of them will be back to fighting for the role.
Watch two sneak peeks below for the April 16 episode of Smash, airing at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
