Smash Sneak Peeks: Karen Gets Sexy, Ivy Goes Bad & Michael Serenades Julia

SmashThe last episode of Smash (featuring a guest appearance by Nick Jonas) was all about Ivy making her mark as Marilyn and trying to shoot down Karen. Fortunately for Ivy, she was pretty effective at it, particularly when she got Karen thrown out of two numbers for out-shining her.

But Ivy is going to learn that fame is very fickle. Ivy may have won the last round, but the competition between the two girls is just heating up. And this time it looks like Karen might be pulling ahead. Despite sleeping with Derek and trying to hang onto her role, Ivy will get schooled in how to “properly” sing “Happy Birthday” from Karen when Derek gets frustrated with Ivy’s performance in the March 5 episode of Smash. Derek gets progressively more frustrated with Ivy as the episode goes on and even brings up the possibility of replacing her to Tom and Julia. Tom, of course, is livid and doesn’t want Ivy to be replaced. Will Ivy lose her starring role so soon?

Meanwhile, Karen accompanies Dev to a government party and finds a new use for her acting talents. Plus, Michael serenades Julia with a song and the two grow closer. Will they rekindle their affair?

Watch four sneak peeks below from the March 5 episode of Smash, including two performances from Karen, Ivy singing “Let’s Be Bad” as Marilyn and a scene with Michael and Julia.
