Smash Sneak Peeks: Ellis Gets his Comeuppance and Nick Jonas Returns

smashWe’re coming up on the season finale of Smash and the production of Bombshell is current in trouble. In the penultimate episode the show lost its star when she had an allergic reaction after someone slipped peanuts into her smoothie. But the loss of Rebecca Duvall isn’t the only problem. The test audiences didn’t respond well to the ending of the musical, forcing Tom and Julia to come up with a new ending.

But the big question is: who will take the stage as Marilyn? With Rebecca out of the picture, both Ivy and Karen will be gunning for the role. Will Eileen and Derek give the job back to Ivy, who has the experience of the workshop under her belt, or will the greener Karen get the job?

One of the ladies will play Marilyn in the finale, but before that happens, Ellis has a confession to make: he’s the one who poisoned Rebecca. And his action to “save the show” has made him incredibly insufferable. Anyone who’s been waiting for an Ellis smackdown should be happy about Eileen’s response when he makes his confession. Nick Jonas also returns as Lyly in the finale to dish out a bit of advice about a new star.

Watch two sneak peeks below for the season finale of Smash, airing on May 14 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. The show has already been renewed for a second season.
