The Sons of Anarchy Finale Was FX’s Most Watched Show Ever

One of the smartest things I ever did as a TV viewer was wait to get into Sons of Anarchy. I knew I would love the show, and wanted to make sure I had it as a fall back when Breaking Bad ended. I am currently into the show at a fairly early point, and even working on a TV site and knowing spoilers, the show is still amazing. Dark, cynical, violent, and oddly funny at times, Sons of Anarchy is a show quite unlike any other. Many of you apparently know this, as the recent Sons of Anarchy finale was the highest rated show that has ever aired on FX.

So when we say highest rated, just what numbers are we talking?

5.2 million people watched the Sons of Anarchy finale this past week. Those are some staggering numbers for the network, and can help to ensure FX as one of the networks-to-watch like AMC or HBO. Once a show has pulled in numbers like that, it can change the tone for a network. With Always Sunny doing well, American Horror hitting an all time high, Sons of Anarchy kicking butt, and Louie as one of the funniest shows ever made, we cannot help but wonder what amazing show FX has in store for us next.

Sadly, next season will be Sons of Anarchy’s last, but it’s safe to say the show plans to go out with a bang.
