Sons of Anarchy Promo Pics for 5.03 – “Laying Pipe”

You know that Jax, Tig, Chibs, and Opie are heading into County where Damien Pope has men waiting take the reaper down, but there are some other significant things going on in Sons of Anarchy “Laying Pipe”, airing next Tuesday at 10pm on FX, that this promo pics reveal.  What could be going on?  Stop reading if you don’t want some subtle spoilers.  (More like teases, don’t worry)

Of most interest to me is the return of Wendy (Drea de Matteo), and the circumstances she seems to be returning under.  We see several shots of Tara and Gemma in what appears to be a hospital waiting room, and one picture of Tara apparently confronting Wendy.  This seems to suggest that something might have happened to Abel, or perhaps even both of the children.

One thing Sons of Anarchy does very well is keep the heat up on these familial conflicts.  Gemma tried to kill Wendy when she was trying to dry out at one point, and despite the reconciliation between Tara and Gemma this week we know they have a relationship that swings wildly from one extreme to another; there is no reason to expect they are going to be nicey nicey going forward.

Of course another key element of these pictures is Jax confronting some Hispanic gentleman in the yard.  Protection from Romey?  Or maybe some old friends of Neros?  Either way, these aren’t the types we expected to see targeting the SOA, so they will either find new allies behind bars, or make new enemies.
