Southland won't be premiering its fourth season until this January, but news has started to come in as to where things will stand when we rejoin Lydia, John, Sammy, and Ben. One big piece of news is that Lucy Liu has joined the cast as a member of the LAPD; there are no character details that have leaked nor have the number of episodes Liu will appear in been confirmed, but she's said to appear throughout the season.
Though primarily a film actress, Lucy Liu may be best known for her Emmy-nominated performance in Ally McBeal as Ling Woo, the vicious villain that terrorized Cage & Fish for several seasons. Her last role in live action series television was in the second season of Dirty Sexy Money, though Liu has done animated work and a successful Lifetime miniseries in the time since.
