Season 6 of Lost is still many months away, but spoilers (and some crazy rumors) are already surfacing about what will or may occur during the final season of the series. Season 5 ended with a bang - literally - and I for one can't wait until the show returns in January or February of 2010.
Fans, of course, have a few questions coming out of Season 5. The first is whether Juliet Burke (Elizabeth Mitchell) will return to the show for the final season. When we last saw her, Juliet had fallen down a hole at the Swan station. Amazingly not killed by the fall, she ended the Season 5 finale by detonating the bomb Jack had dropped down the hole in an attempt to blow up the island and change everyone's future.
Fortunately, Juliet will be returning to the show, at least for a few episodes. Despite the fact that Elizabeth Mitchell has joined the cast of the new show "V", we can expect to see her back on the island. RTE Entertainment says:
It was recently announced that Elizabeth Mitchell is returning to the series in her role as Juliet Burke.
Of course, this confirmation of her return doesn't really say whether Juliet will be alive. We've seen many deceased characters return to the show. We'll just have to wait and see.
Then there's the question of Claire Littleton (Emilie de Ravin), who hasn't been seen since Season 4. Jack learned that Claire was his half-sister and Kate has been raising her son Aaron as her own, but fans have always wondered what happened to Claire, who mysteriously disappeared in the jungle only to be seen one last time by John Locke, along with the "ghost" of Christian Shephard. RTE Entertainment confirms that Claire will return for the final season of Lost and that it has always been the plan of the producers to bring her back for Season 6:

The actress, who plays Claire in the ABC series, will reportedly make a comeback as a full-time series regular for the show's final season.
"Damon (Lindelof) and I are very excited to bring Claire back to the show," Digitalspy reports executive producer Carlton Cuse as saying. "And even more excited for people to experience just how she will return."
Finally, there's a crazy rumor floating around that Jack Shephard is actually set to die in the final episode of the series. I don't necessarily buy it. There's no source for this claim, but Sunday Mercury somehow believes that producer Carlton Cuse's vague statement confirms it:

So will he kill off the doc?
"I wish I could answer that question," he says. "But it'd be like watching The Sixth Sense and knowing Bruce Willis is dead."
We'll take that as a 'yes' then.
Cuse and the other producers/writers of the show are always deliberately vague and his statement doesn't prove anything. Don't panic, Jack fans. I still don't think we should take this seriously.

The purpose of calling these "spoilers" is to warn people who would prefer to stay spoiler-free. Maybe not everyone would prefer to know that Juliet will be returning to the show. I have friends who would rather wait until season 6 to see whether she lived or died and don't want to know.
And I too shot down the whole Jack rumor, but that doesn't mean it's not worth bringing it up. Stories like that could very well start making their way around the internet. Some people even speculate that the show will end with Jack's death (much in the same way that Prison Break just ended with the main character's death). I don't believe it, but the purpose of bringing it up is to encourage discussion.
Considering that some people classify the previews for next week's episode that appear in the end credits as "spoilers," these facts are pretty huge. People who avoid spoilers have no idea if Juliet is coming back or not, and don't want to know if she is until it happens.

i for one think that jack should not die .. it beats the purpose of the whole show ..he is the HERO !! not in the traditional sense.. he's nto the typical night and shining armor ,but that is what makes him so special ..that is what makes us all get drawn to him even more.. theres this part of his life thats totaly dark and twisted but we all know that deep inside jack is a natural leader and he has the capability to go above and beyond .. for a show like lost to have the "perfect hero" would be too cliche ,his emotional journey is what makes him so special .. we can literally see jack evolve …
why have him return to the island if only to kill him ?
the poor guy helped everyone out when they neded him and then he just dies ???!!!

and if it were true that jack was to be killed in the last episode then we wouldnt even be able to know abt it .. they would try their level best to keep it a secret so that the fans get a huge surprise at the end ..

if it were true he wouldnt have compared it to the sixth sense .. because that would mean that he is implying jack's death ,perhaps even confirming it ..
if cuse firmly beleves that the end should be kept a secret ,it means that whatever he said during that interview was just a trick to confuse us .why would he want to and besides why would he want to ruin the end of his own show ??
he thinks that by getting us all hyped abt jacks death that we will certainly be convinced adn when we finally watch the last episode and see that jack doesnt die ,that it will surprise us even more ..
