Glee returns on September 16, 2009, but the lucky folks over at Zap2it have already had a special viewing of the next two episodes and have provided some spoilers. Here's some of what's in store for the Glee cast when they return:
Episode 1.02 is entitled "Showmance" and episode 1.03 is called "Preggers".
Mr. Schuester tries to recruit more students to the Glee club in episode 1.02, which he's instructed to do if he wants to keep it going. To do this, he wants the existing members to perform the 1970s disco song "Le Freak" during a school assembly. Unfortunately, Finn and Rachel think they'll be laughed out of the auditorium if they sing Schuester's choice of song and come up with another plan, which helps bring the two of them closer.
In episode 1.03 Kurt tries out for the football team (which you catch a snippet of in the preview below, where he's "auditioning for the role of kicker"). He tries out for the team in order to impress his father and Kurt appears to be the centerpiece of this episode. Quinn (Finn's girlfriend) tells a lie, which also happens to be big news. When I first read this spoiler, I kind of thought she would tell Finn she was pregnant in order to hang onto him and keep him away from Rachel (which would also fit in with the episode title). Then I remembered that she's the president of the celibacy club, so unless she's breaking her vow, I don't think even Finn will fall for it. In the meantime, Schuester's wife Terri is also a liar in this episode. I'm thinking she's the one who lies about being pregnant, since we've seen in promos that she's only having a "hysterical pregnancy".
When asked whether any football players or Cheerio cheerleaders would join the club, Zap2it simply responded "Mhmmm". Is that a yes, do you think?
Emma and Schuester also seem to be getting closer in the next two episodes, but they're both goody-goodies and Schuester's married, so it doesn't appear that they'll be jumping into an affair any time soon.
Songs to be featured in the next two episodes include: Kanye's "Gold Digger", Rhianna's "Take a Bow", Salt N Pepa's "Push It", Beyonce's "Single Ladies", Burt Bacharach's "I Say A Little Prayer", Eric Carmen's "All By Myself", West Side Story's "Tonight" and Cabaret's "The Money Song".
You can check out a preview for Glee below and don't forget to catch it at 9:00 p.m. on September 16th.
