A little over a month ago Dominic Monaghan turned up in an ABC advertisement for the fall season, that sort of insinuated that he might be returning to Lost for their sixth and final season. Shortly there after it was confirmed that although he had made no deals with Lost, Dominic would be showing up on ABC this fall in a new series. The spoiler hounds went nuts and it wasn't long before the rumor mill had Dominic in a new role on Flash Forward. Just this morning SpoilerTV has confirmed that Monaghan will in fact be playing a character known as Theo and will show up in the new series in the second episode. Now, I use the word "confirmed" lightly, because lets be honest, until ABC or someone with the show says its so, we're all just gossiping here.
I spoke with ABC this morning and once again received no confirmation from them on whether this rumor is true or not. However it does seem likely that Monaghan will be joining the new show, being touted as a replacement for Lost when it ends next May. But for those of you who are looking for something official on this little rumor, I'd say keep your eyes wide open during Comic Con next week and you just might get the confirmation you're looking for. And if you happen to be going to Comic Con this year, tell Dominic I said hi.
In other Dominic news, if you're still holding out for Charlie's return to Lost, here's a nice little piece of information. Dominic was seen recently talking with Lost show executives and BuddyTV is suggesting that perhaps there is a return in the works for our dearly departed rocker. Stay tuned!
Not sure if it is significant, but you know the whole "You are so dead. Actually, I was!" thing in the ABC promos? I wonder if it has an extra meaning. In the book Flashfoward, Theo was actually dead in the flashforward everyone experienced. His part of the book was avoiding this fate, and if his onscreen counterpart has a similar storyline, the whole promo might have had two meanings (one for LOST, one for Flashforward).
