Paul, I am with you on the love quadrangle and the coup. Franklin and Spencer's presences always nerves me, because by Franklin being as smart as he is, he doesn't have common sense. With Spencer not having no logical or book sense whatsoever, he could be the muscle and the two could make a great challenge to the crew.

With that said, I still think the greatest coup ever to go down has to be when Gaeta and Zarek lost their frakking minds on BSG. Man I have never been so close to a TV screen in my entire life…

The usual stargate civilian/military conflict is happening again ("Yeah, thanks for risking your life repeatedly for me, but I dont trust you…"). I suspect you are right and this will play out to a coup – no doubt taking advantage of Young taking all the senior staff off the ship.

The only bit I dont get is why they dont dial Earth. I understand the ship has only 40% power, but I would try it once anyway – if it works your free and if it doesnt you can just fly in to a star!

Eli stood up to Young about pulling the 40% number out of his ass, so I admired that and took it as a sign of Rush's good influence on him. And then he folded like a cheap suit by spying on the others per Young's orders. Maybe that will tie in later on to to the whole "Eli is a trusted advisor; we can get him to tell us what is really going on" thing that Vanessa started a couple episodes ago?

I'd love for Vanessa to do something. Anything. Except die and have Scott break up with Chloe out of guilt for his harsh mistreatment of her, but that at least would provide some character growth and drama.

I officially nominate Chloe for the "Most Useless Stargate Character Ever" Award. (Note, I'm talking about the character, not the actress.) Her purpose on Destiny seems to be to look pretty and sex up the show. Which coincides nicely with award runner-up Lt. Scott's role, which is to look pretty, sex up the show, and nearly get his ass killed every time he steps off the ship. I'm writing these two off.

I liked the Rush/Eli interaction this week. I didn't even mind Eli's childishness because Rush called him on it and was right to do so. If they play it right (and I'm not confident they will) Eli could be an adult character who goes from only having computer smarts to being an overall grown-up.

TJ! Had a significant role. She moved nicely from overwhelmed to screw-it-here's-the-plan-now-execute-it-and-stay-out-of-my-face. Finally.

Colonel Young had better come through for me next week (promos look promising) because I'm on the fence for his character. At first I was upset with Telford trying to take over but as Young's (lack of) leadership emerges, I'm seriously reconsidering. Last week, didn't he say that he and Scott were the only pilots on board? Yet, he picks both of them for the off-ship walk? Poor planning, bub.

I'm sticking with it for Rush, Eli, TJ and Greer. Heaven help us if they screw up.
