Snark is ok in this context, Featherlite. Sometimes its even a must. I wonder if Eli will be in the center of the inevitable coup? Now, I would love to see how that will play out.

Thanks, Chris! I love you guys insights as well. I would trust the frakking aliens before I trusted Rush, but when you got people on the ship itching for a reason to 'snap' and take command of the situation, I don't think panic would have helped that situation. I love your observation on Eli's reasoning though, because I wanted to understand where he was coming from, but I still have to side with Rush. But if Young had of came back on the ship then the water supply would have still been depleted and they would still be in hot water, no pun intended.

Paul, I am with you on the love quadrangle and the coup. Franklin and Spencer's presences always nerves me, because by Franklin being as smart as he is, he doesn't have common sense. With Spencer not having no logical or book sense whatsoever, he could be the muscle and the two could make a great challenge to the crew.

With that said, I still think the greatest coup ever to go down has to be when Gaeta and Zarek lost their frakking minds on BSG. Man I have never been so close to a TV screen in my entire life...

Eli was quite annoying this episode, but I guess he has no training or experience. They have played it a few times now and im guessing they will drag it out. I feel sorry for Chloe already - after how quickly Scott moved on from Vanessa he seems like a one night stand kind of guy. Im guessing this will build up to some 4-way conflict between Vanessa/Chloe/Scott/Eli.

The usual stargate civilian/military conflict is happening again ("Yeah, thanks for risking your life repeatedly for me, but I dont trust you..."). I suspect you are right and this will play out to a coup - no doubt taking advantage of Young taking all the senior staff off the ship.

The only bit I dont get is why they dont dial Earth. I understand the ship has only 40% power, but I would try it once anyway - if it works your free and if it doesnt you can just fly in to a star!

I think Eli was just trying to put the decision (what to do about the aliens on the ship) in Young's hands, and not that megalomaniac Rush's hands. Rush was purposefully withholding information to get the outcome HE thought best, and I don't think Eli trusts him. I mean seriously no matter how smart or tormented you are, that DOES NOT give you the right to act like such a dick. I think Rush's character was created to add some interpersonal drama, and not make the ship parts all boring and the planet parts all action, BUT SERIOUSLY, if I was on that ship, I would have snapped and air locked him already. SUCH A DICK! (nice recaps man... love your insight)

You think Young's preoccupation comes from his wife? Interesting idea. I hadn't considered that he would have a personal and not a professional excuse. (I guess that whole goodbye scene didn't have much impact for me.)

Eli stood up to Young about pulling the 40% number out of his ass, so I admired that and took it as a sign of Rush's good influence on him. And then he folded like a cheap suit by spying on the others per Young's orders. Maybe that will tie in later on to to the whole "Eli is a trusted advisor; we can get him to tell us what is really going on" thing that Vanessa started a couple episodes ago?

I'd love for Vanessa to do something. Anything. Except die and have Scott break up with Chloe out of guilt for his harsh mistreatment of her, but that at least would provide some character growth and drama.

I may snark but I'm still a fan. I just want better for my show.

Featherlite, love your comments! I agree that Young is slipping and does not care anymore and blame it on his anxiety with his wife leaving him. But with that said, I do NOT want Telford coming in regulating, because Greer has already laid him out once and I doubt he would get away with it again. I didn't realize that bit about Young and Scott being the only pilots on the ship and both are off the ship. That's a damn good point, which makes me stand by Rush's argument even more. I hope that Eli grows some balls and soon, plus I hope that we see more of the Chloe/Vanessa "feud", because I do not buy that the guy with the "heart of gold" can jump from girl to girl without thinking twice about it.

Mark, good recap. Do you realize that partway through next episode we will be one third of the way through the season? And I feel like I'm still waiting for things to get started.

I officially nominate Chloe for the "Most Useless Stargate Character Ever" Award. (Note, I'm talking about the character, not the actress.) Her purpose on Destiny seems to be to look pretty and sex up the show. Which coincides nicely with award runner-up Lt. Scott's role, which is to look pretty, sex up the show, and nearly get his ass killed every time he steps off the ship. I'm writing these two off.

I liked the Rush/Eli interaction this week. I didn't even mind Eli's childishness because Rush called him on it and was right to do so. If they play it right (and I'm not confident they will) Eli could be an adult character who goes from only having computer smarts to being an overall grown-up.

TJ! Had a significant role. She moved nicely from overwhelmed to screw-it-here's-the-plan-now-execute-it-and-stay-out-of-my-face. Finally.

Colonel Young had better come through for me next week (promos look promising) because I'm on the fence for his character. At first I was upset with Telford trying to take over but as Young's (lack of) leadership emerges, I'm seriously reconsidering. Last week, didn't he say that he and Scott were the only pilots on board? Yet, he picks both of them for the off-ship walk? Poor planning, bub.

I'm sticking with it for Rush, Eli, TJ and Greer. Heaven help us if they screw up.
