I agree. This was a feast. A lot of it gave me a stomache-ache though, so it was a mixed blessing. You know what could have made this episode better? Airing it three weeks ago! Character development (as much as I don't like the characters) and plot movement in week four would have cut down a lot of my bitching.

Chloe - one-third of the way through the season and still whining. Also "my ex-boyfriend is cheating on me with my skank best friend but the fact that I'm now boffing Lt. Scott doesn't count" - mmm, no. Good job by the actress, though, when that one guy tried to be sympathetic and it turned into "boy, the Senator dying sure screwed up my plans" and Chloe not being able to say anything. That was well done.

Eli - I knew the "Philip Fry" thing was important but I didn't get it. Nice scenes with his (not) mom. If he hasn't clued into the fact that Chloe only cuddles when Scott is not around, I'm taking back his "genius" label.

Young and TJ - they hinted about this in the pilot and took another 6 weeks to get back to it. (Hence the "air it earlier" comment.) Seriously, is everyone on board going to drop trou?

Young and Telford - Sorry, Mark, as much as you hate Telford, I have the same respect for Young's leadership, so let's call it a wash. As for the body-switching and what you can do wearing another person. There have been pages (and pages and articles and don't google "Stargate Universe Gate Fail") about the ethics of having sex in someone else's body without their permission. Whole 'nother subject. Although I do believe that Telford was not having an affair with Young's wife... prior to the booty call. (Young's wife - yet another character who's name I still don't know after multiple viewings.)

Telford - yeah, we're running a very controvertial experiment on board. Let's lock up one of the soldiers who could help contain this because I have a personal vendetta. I'm not a lawyer, but doesn't being stranded on a ship with no chance of parole and eating gruel three times a day sort of imply that Greer is already in the brig?

Wray and IOA guy - what a great set up! What poor follow through. Did she have more than one line after she got back to the ship? I know she said, "this stand a better chance of working if you'd help" to Rush, but that's it, I think. Damn, I thought we'd get to see Wray be the strong, influencial character they promised. I know, I know, "wait for it, it's coming."

The cut and run. WTF??? Jack O'Neill, hero, leader, lover of cake, the man who has literally told his 2IC to rewrite the laws of physics to save SCG personnel, the man who has exterminated populations to save his team-mates, approved a half-baked scientific plan (okay, I can see this one) and sent people across the universe... with the orders to cut and run if it goes badly instead of sticking it out? No taking responsibility here.

And why send Eli home NOW? If you have a plan that involves the ship, why vacate the body of one of the two people on the ship who knows how it works instead of keeping him around in case something goes wrong?

Rush. Say what you will, he sure as hell united the crew and passengers of the Destiny and gave them an enemy. Earth - where people want them dead. Does he want to go home? Probably not. Would the ship have really exploded? Possibly. I think that he does want more time (a few months, like he said) but he will get everyone home and doesn't want them die between now and then.

If I were on board, the next time Earth came up with a plan, you know what I'd want? Hostages. Get the IOA guy into a body on the ship and have the Earth-bound person lock IOA's guys body in a room somewhere. Nobody goes home till the plan is completed. If I die, you die. What do you mean - no? You said this would work.

So much more, but no more time to comment.

Not sure I`d want to kiss either of them.

This was the best so far, lots of 1/2 clues popping up to make us wonder. I think we are underestimating Rush, so far he`s been made the unlikable one. He`s going to come out top and gain the respect from Young eventually.
