Starz Cancels Camelot

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Starz has opted not to pick up a second season of Camelot, its retelling of the legend of King Arthur, due to "production challenges". The network, home to Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, currently has several shows in development, including a live action take on the Noir anime series, a Kelsey Grammer political drama, and Magic City, starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Camelot starred Jamie Campbell Brower (Sweeney Todd, RocknRolla) as a young Arthur who learns he's the only male heir to the throne after King Uther's death. It also featured Eva Green as Uther's scheming daughter Morgan and Joseph Fiennes as Arthur's ally, the sorcerer Merlin. It was the fourth TV series to try to tell Arthur's story, following Mr. Merlin, Kaamelott, and BBC's Merlin, which is entering its fourth series this autumn.

What do you think about the cancellation of Camelot? Do you think the show ended on an okay-enough note? What would you have wanted to see if Camelot had come back next spring for a second season?

I'm not surprised. The only bright spot of the show was Eva Green. Jamie Campbell Brower was terrible as Arthur. This show also had the misfortune of being on air the same time as Game of Thrones which was head shoulders above Camelot in terms of quality.

honestly i think there should be a season 2, think about it everyone says that jamie campbell brower was too young and new to play arthur but everyone back then thought arthur was too young and inexperienced to be king so in that manner he really does fit, the real arthur had to grow into his role as king and the actor is the same, in the beginning he wasn't ready to be king or a public figurehead but in the end he learned to fit the role, i watched it faithfully and i liked it. at first i didn't like the actor picked for arthur either but if u pay attention without personal opinions getting in the way you would notice that he grows into the role nicely. and the dead end they left it at was a bad choice, at least see who they picked to be mordrid.
